Week of 9/25

Hello Families! Below is an update about this past week and information about conferences next week!

In reading, we started a new unit using informational texts as our anchor texts and supporting texts. We are learning how readers understand main ideas by looking closely at the facts and details used to support them.

In writing, we are learning how writers understand how to convey information about main ideas and details through text features and illustrations.

In math, we are continuing our unit in addition and subtraction word problems. Some of these problems are extremely tricky! Make sure to remind your student to read those word problems carefully and create a "mental picture."

In social studies this week we started our end of unit project! The students are showing their learning through a brochure project. They have been working so hard this past week and we are so excited to show it to you at conferences!
