Happy Friday!

Hello Families!

We hope you all have had a great week! We have had quite a busy but unforgettable week! We kicked off the week by getting the opportunity to watch and learn ALL about the eclipse. The kids LOVED it and did so well reflecting on such a unique experience.

In reading we jumped right into our ReadyGEN curriculum and read a chapter from "The Lemonade War" and started reading "The Gasping Garbage." As readers we are learning about how authors use characters' actions to impact the sequence of events in a story.

In writing we had our first try in 3rd grade at narrative writing. They did absolutely fantastic and we can't wait to share our work with you! We are continuing to learn how to introduce character's by using details and dialogue.

In math we learned all about place value drawings! This should be a review from last year with a few challenging problems to keep them on their toes! :)

A few things as we head into next week...

Homework was sent home in your child's Friday folder. Their reading log is due next Friday (9/1) with a parent signature! Their math packet is also due next Friday morning (9/1). Please let us know if you have any questions throughout the week!

We have a late lunch, so if your child would like to bring a snack to eat during their morning independent work, they are more than welcome to do so! If possible, please encourage your child to bring a healthy snack :)

We LOVE this beautiful Colorado weather, but it does get extremely hot out there at recess as the kids are running and playing! Please encourage your 3rd grader to bring a water bottle to school so they can stay hydrated.

As always, please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions! Have a great and RELAXING weekend! :)
