Week of 9/18

Hello Families!

Hope you all had a great week!! This week has been full of hard work and celebrations!

In Reading, we spent the week comparing and contrasting the stories we have read throughout our unit. We were reading closely to see how characters' identified the problems in the stories, and why the characters' were motivated to solve the problem. The kids did so well reading closely and looking for text evidence when they were answering questions and having class discussions. This week, we will start a new unit and book!

In Writing this week, the students worked extremely hard to write a new narrative with details and dialogue. Each student wrote a rough draft and spent several days editing and revising their pieces. We spent the end of the week publishing our narratives. We will have a "publishing party" on his week!

In Social Studies, we have been learning about Colorado and our unique geography!

In Math, we have been discussing how addition and subtraction are related. We have explored different strategies of how to solve word problems and equations with unknown numbers.

We had a BLAST at field day on Friday! Thank you for all your support!
